Stashmark

Tap the share button (the square with an arrow) in Safari, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, X, or almost any app. Scroll down the share sheet to Stashmark, tap it, pick a folder (or leave Undefined), edit the title if you want, and tap Save.

By default, iOS puts Stashmark somewhere in the middle of the share sheet. You can pin it near the top by adding it to your Favorites — a one-time setup that saves a lot of scrolling later.

Steps:

1. In any app (Safari works well), tap the Share button.
2. Scroll the row of app icons all the way to the right and tap More (the three dots).
3. Tap Edit in the top-right corner.
4. Find Stashmark in the list and tap the green + next to it — this adds it to your Favorites.
5. Drag the three-line handle next to Stashmark upward to move it to the position you want.
6. Tap Done.

Now every time you share a link from any app, Stashmark will appear near the top of the share sheet — usually just one tap away.

Tip: if you don't see Stashmark in the app row at all, scroll to the far right and tap More, then flip the toggle next to Stashmark to enable it first.

Locally on your device, in Stashmark's private app container. Nothing is uploaded to any server unless you explicitly export or use iCloud Drive backup.

Open Settings → iCloud → Backup to iCloud Drive. A dated ZIP file is saved to your iCloud Drive. To restore, use Restore from iCloud Drive.

You can also use Export all bookmarks to save a ZIP anywhere via the standard iOS share sheet.

A one-time $3.99 in-app purchase that removes the 50-bookmark limit. There is no subscription, no recurring charge. Buy once, keep forever, on every device signed in to the same Apple ID (use Restore purchase on a new device).

In the folder view, tap the menu and choose Lock Folder. Set a 4-digit PIN. The folder can then be unlocked with the PIN or with Face ID / Touch ID.

Important: the PIN is stored as a one-way hash on your device and cannot be recovered if forgotten.

By design. Backups and CSV/ZIP imports include your bookmarks and folder structure, but they do not carry PIN locks across devices. This is intentional — it keeps your backup files portable and prevents you from being permanently locked out of your own data if you forget a PIN or restore to a new device.

After a restore or import, any previously locked folders will be visible. If you want them locked again, open the folder, tap the menu, and choose Lock Folder to set a new PIN. You can use the same PIN as before or a new one.

Stashmark fetches Open Graph preview images from the pages you save. Some sites (private posts, paywalled content, or pages that don't publish Open Graph tags) don't provide one. This is a limitation of the source site, not the app.

Some social platforms — most commonly Facebook and Instagram — restrict access to preview images for logged-out visitors or bots, or require authentication to view a post. When Stashmark can't fetch the preview image, the bookmark still saves correctly (title, link, and source), but the thumbnail slot will fall back to the platform's logo instead of a real image.

This is a limitation on the social platform's side and there's no way around it without giving Stashmark your login credentials, which we deliberately don't ask for. Public posts and public YouTube / TikTok / Reddit / X links almost always fetch thumbnails without issue.

Go to Settings → Stashmark Pro → Restore purchase. Make sure the same Apple ID is signed in to the App Store on this device.

Swipe left on a bookmark row, or long-press a bookmark card to get a menu with Delete. To delete a folder, open it, tap the menu, and choose Delete Folder. Bookmarks in a deleted folder move to Undefined — nothing is lost.

Yes — pull down on the All Bookmarks screen to reveal the search bar. Search matches all words you type, in any order, against the bookmark title.

Yes. Back up to iCloud Drive on your old phone (Settings → Backup to iCloud Drive), install Stashmark on the new phone, then choose Restore from iCloud Drive. Or use Export all bookmarks to save a ZIP anywhere and import it later.
